Five considerations for installing a dome camera

The following precautions should be taken into account when installing the dome camera :

First, the power supply in order to ensure the normal operation of the dome, the power supply should not be lower than the ball machine input voltage nominal value. When the nominal value is 24VAC, the voltage fluctuation should not exceed ±25%. The ball machine common operating voltage is 24VAC. At present, there are 220VAC ball machines on the market, which essentially have the transformer built into the dome cover and provide power to the dome after it is transformed. When wiring, emphasis should be placed on the separation of strong and weak electricity in order to avoid strong electricity interference with weak electricity. The space inside the dome is limited, and the built-in transformer makes the strong and weak electricity coexist, thus affecting weak signals. In addition, the built-in transformer will increase the heat load and increase the possibility of burn-in of the built-in circuit.

According to the different on-site environment, the choice of local 220VAC to 24VAC, or remote transformer, centralized power supply. When centralized power supply, full consideration should be given to the loss of electrical energy on the transmission line. Select a device with a large output power and increase the output voltage appropriately to carry the line voltage drop. For example, select a 28VAC output to power the remote dome.

Whether the ball machine has enough electric drive can be tested by a multimeter by measuring the voltage of one end of the power line of the ball machine with a multimeter while the load (ball machine) is on, and observing whether the voltage is within the permission range of the ball machine. Special attention should be paid to the fact that the power consumed by the outdoor dome is very different when the heater is started or stopped. When the outdoor dome is powered, the maximum power required by the dome in the harshest environment must be considered.

When the mains voltage fluctuation exceeds the range of +5% to -10%, AC voltage regulator should be set. The UPS can be installed to provide an uninterrupted and stable power supply.

Second, the ground connected to the earth machine is mainly divided into shell grounding and internal electrical grounding.

The grounding of the shell is mainly used to prevent the accumulation of static electricity, electrical leakage, etc. The outdoor dome is also particularly equipped with external lightning protection measures. In general, the outdoor dome cover mounted on the pole bracket has naturally formed a grounding protection due to screwing on the metal bracket, and no special treatment is required.

The data lines and video lines inside the dome have been grounded accordingly, and the GND inside the dome is connected to the ground to ensure that the device is effectively grounded.

Third, the ground loop even if the device is effectively grounded, but there is a difference between the zero potential of the different positions of the ball machine and the central equipment, there is an imbalance in the power supply load, it will still cause the ground potential difference. The potential difference creates a current through the closed loop formed by the coaxial cable, causing interference, and thus affecting the normal transmission of the video signal, which usually appears as horizontal clutter in the middle of the image.

The most effective way to solve the loop problem is to add a ground loop isolator to the video transmission. Most of the video signals of indoor/outdoor ball machines are still transmitted by coaxial cables, and some of the dome cameras are far from the center equipment, and they are easier to form a loop. If optical transceivers are used for signal transmission, the effects of ground loops can be avoided more effectively.

Fourth, waterproof <br> <br> outdoor ball machine install must do waterproofing.

For suspended installations, there is a gap between the dome and the stand. In the event of rain or snow, water can leak into the interior along the gap and cause damage. Therefore, waterproof sealing measures should be taken during installation to prevent rain and water from entering through the screw joint.

The choice of dome mounting brackets is also very important. The original bracket is recommended. The original bracket fully considered the waterproof problem, such as the design of the tilt to make the ball machine slightly higher spin-joint end. Even if the water in the bracket will only flow back into the column, it will not flow into the dome. Therefore, if users make their own stent should fully consider the waterproof factor.

Why is there a drop of water in the rack? Generally speaking, the temperature during the day is high and the water vapor inside the pole enters the bracket. As the temperature decreases during the night, the water vapor condenses into water droplets, which condense along the walls of the support. When the bracket is not tilted or tilted in the opposite direction, water droplets flow into the dome along the wall, causing damage. In order to reduce the water vapor entering the bracket, the bracket and the pole can be sealed with plasticine or silicone.

Fifth, the heat dissipation problem of the heat-dissipating dome must also be considered.

Some brands on the market have no outdoor models, so they cannot be directly applied outdoors, and accessories such as outdoor shields must be added to enable them to adapt to harsh outdoor or extreme temperature environments.
