It is reported that in order to encourage technological advancement of enterprises, the new "Enterprise Income Tax Law" implemented from January 1, 2008 leans on high-tech industries in terms of tax incentives, and provides that high-tech enterprises supported by the state will pay a reduced tax rate of 15%. Corporate income tax; research and development costs incurred by companies in the development of new technologies, new products, and new processes may be deducted at 150% of the research and development costs when calculating the taxable income; for start-up investments where the state needs key support and encouragement, 70% of the investment amount can be deducted from the taxable income.
