SMARTRAC Launches New Label for Working in Gamma Ray Environment

Recently, SMARTRAC released an RFID tag that can work in up to 45 kg of Gamma rays. Radiation sterilization is often used in the medical industry to destroy the DNA structure of microorganisms that may appear in medical devices.
The new tag development is based on SMARTRAC's S-Tag product family and conforms to the ISO/IEC 15693 standard. The new S-Tag tag is 16mm in size and includes a Fujitsu FRAM chip.
The Gamma Rays can penetrate materials and packaging, including metal containers, and the radiation sterilization process does not affect the RFID tag data due to the ferroelectric properties of the tag.
