Over the past few years, Yunnan Metallurgical Group has accelerated the adoption of nationally recommended energy-saving technologies, technologies, and equipment to make the management of energy conservation and emission reduction scientific and standardized. The group-owned enterprises resolutely eliminated backward production capacity, accelerated the promotion of energy-saving and emission reduction, and prioritized the use of advanced technology and large-scale equipment to improve energy efficiency. In the aluminum industry, the use of energy-saving technology with curved cathode aluminum reduction cells with proprietary intellectual property rights has led to a significant drop in electricity consumption for the integrated ton of aluminum by 600-800 kWh, and a number of energy-saving technological transformations have enabled Yun Aluminum’s electrolytic aluminum integrated current efficiency to reach 96%, electrolyzer gas collection efficiency reaches 98%, dust removal efficiency reaches 99%, fluoride purification efficiency reaches 98.5%, zero discharge of wastewater is achieved, and the total AC power consumption of aluminum ingot is kept below 13730.5 KWoh/t, which is higher than the domestic average The level is lower than 1000KWoh/t. In the lead-zinc industry, independently researched and developed high-speed iron sulphide concentrate pressurization acid leaching technology and IY sunk smelting technology, to achieve a new breakthrough in the lead-zinc smelting process, changing the traditional wet zinc smelting process of sulfur dioxide tail gas exhaust to the environment harm. In the manganese industry, the Dounan company has implemented a 100,000 t/y manganese ferroalloy technology upgrade. The economic indicators of various technologies have been greatly improved, and the equipment and process technology has reached the domestic advanced level.

In 2009, the total amount of industrial wastewater discharged by the Group's enterprises was reduced by 520,000 tons from 2.12 million tons in the previous year; the recycling rate of industrial water reached 93.16%; the industrial waste gas SO2 was reduced by 55 tons year-on-year; the amount of industrial solid waste was higher than that of the previous year The overall utilization rate of industrial solid waste was 72.91%, an increase of 5.76% over the same period last year.
