In order to implement the green commitment, Lenovo began importing the ISO14000 environmental management series system 10 years ago, and set up the “Chief Environmental Officer†for the first time in China to participate in the formulation of the group company’s environmental policy, and established the relevant organizational department based on this principle. In order to continuously optimize the company's environmental management system, Lenovo has also consistently promoted the "green management" of the entire supply chain system. In terms of conservation of resources, most of the IT products produced by Lenovo are made of more than 85% of recyclable materials. Lenovo not only takes the lead in the use of recycled plastics in the industry, but also will continue to increase the proportion of recycled plastics in future new products, such as Lenovo green keyboard, the composition of recycled plastics up to 35%. In order to promote cooperation with raw material suppliers to recycle plastics from used computers, Lenovo worked with upstream suppliers to process recycled plastics and achieved recycling of plastics in computer products. In 2008 alone, Lenovo used a total of 998.8 tons of post-consumer recycled plastics in computer manufacturing in cooperation with material suppliers.
