Russia has also discovered a large diamond mine

Russia's "International Interfax" reported on August 2 that the Russian "Alrosa" diamond mining company newly discovered a diamond mine with a reserve value of 3.5 billion US dollars in Oyakutia. The diamond mine of this size was last discovered 10 years ago.
ALROSA has received a new mineral discovery certificate from the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources.
The company announced that the new diamond mine will be continuously mined for 25 years with an annual mining of 1.2 million to 2 million tons of ore. Diamond reserves are currently estimated at $3.5 billion, and reserves may increase further if exploration continues.
Since the mine is explored by Alrosa with its own funds, the company has the right to self-mined without bidding. The company has now begun to apply for mining licenses.
Alrosa is the world's fourth-largest diamond mining company, and 90% of Russia's diamonds are mined in the Yakutia region. Russian diamond production currently accounts for about a quarter of the world, but in the past 10 years, diamond resources have begun to dry up due to the lack of new mineral deposits.
