The use of silicon carbon rods:

Silicon carbon rods are just put into use, but generally there are no problems. However, after using them for a year, we must pay attention to the following points:

1, silicon carbide rod surface glaze: silicon carbon rod in the tin tank, even if not used, the glass vapor will bring alkali vapor and mirabilite vapor will adhere to the surface of the silicon carbon rod, erosion of silicon carbon rod, the formation of vitreous, see below : The surface properties of silicon carbide rods have changed, the surface density has increased, and the silicon carbide rods have a large density difference between the surface and the interior. If they are used, the silicon carbon rod current is too large and the silicon carbide rods are rapidly heated, which can easily cause Silicon-carbon rods burst, damage, so use a period of time after the silicon carbon rod, when it is necessary to open the heating, not allowed to open too large, should be 5% --- -10% --- 20% --- -40% - Gradually increase, add power each time a few minutes apart, heat and expand the silicon carbon rod to buffer.

2. After the silicon carbon rod is used for a few years or cold-reworked silicon carbide rods, the power is reduced due to the erosion of the silicon carbon rod by the alkali vapor.
