Japan NSK bearings are packaged in both inner and outer packaging. The inner packaging is categorized based on the anti-rust period, which determines the level of protection required for the bearing during storage and transportation.
### **Types of Inner Packaging Based on Anti-Rust Period**
1. **Short Anti-Rust Packaging (3–6 months):**
This type is suitable for large-volume deliveries to a single customer or when the bearings will be used shortly after delivery. It uses simple packaging materials and is ideal for situations where quick access is needed.
2. **Standard Anti-Rust Packaging (1 year):**
Designed for general-purpose bearings that are not stored for extended periods. This packaging offers moderate protection against rust and corrosion.
3. **Long Anti-Rust Packaging (2 years):**
Used for special or precision bearings that require long-term protection. This method ensures the bearings remain in optimal condition even after prolonged storage.
### **Common Materials Used for Inner Packaging**
- Polyethylene plastic tubes or boxes
- Kraft paper
- Plain and crepe polyethylene composite paper
- Cardboard boxes
- Polyethylene or polyethylene film
- Nylon or plastic fastening tape
- Waterproof high-strength plastic tape
- Linen bags
All materials must meet corrosion resistance standards to ensure the safety and longevity of the bearings.
### **Packaging Guidelines for Different Bearing Sizes**
#### **Miniature Bearings**
Each group of 10–15 bearings is placed into a plastic cylinder. These cylinders are then packed into a carton, bag, or roll for easy handling.
#### **Medium and Small Bearings**
- Bearings can be wrapped in polyethylene film and covered with kraft paper or polyethylene composite paper.
- Alternatively, they can be placed into a plastic cylinder (box).
- Single bearings are often packed in individual polyethylene film bags, sealed or folded, and then placed into a larger box.
#### **Large Bearings**
- Each bearing is individually wrapped in polyethylene film or composite paper, then placed into a cardboard box.
- Some are wrapped in a polyethylene film bag, folded, and then placed into a box.
- Special plastic boxes are used for individual large bearings.
- A three-layer wrapping system is also used: inner layer with polyethylene film or composite paper tape, middle layer with fastening tape, and an outer waterproof and saturated plastic tape.
#### **Extra Large Bearings**
- Similar to the three-layer wrapping method, but with an additional outer layer of linen tape.
- This provides extra durability and protection for oversized bearings.
#### **Separable Tapered Roller Bearings (Outer Diameter ≥150mm)**
Before packaging, polyethylene film should be placed between the inner and outer components. In some cases, the components may be separated and packaged individually.
#### **Exchangeable Cylindrical Roller Bearings (Outer Diameter ≥150mm)**
These bearings are typically packaged as a single unit, but if necessary, they can be separated and packaged by their internal components.
