Ms. Zhao, a consumer in Jinan, Shandong Province, purchased a 509-square-meter solid wood floorboard in a floor store in Jinan City in November 2007 for the villa's floor paving and completed the paving on Dec. 9. In April 2008, the family had not stayed yet. Ms. Zhao found tiled deformations in some areas of solid wood flooring. Because the floor was divided into two batches, the visual effects were somewhat different. The first batch was very smooth, while the second batch was uneven. Uneven, there are tiles, the color is relatively light, so Ms. Zhao suspected that the quality of the two batches of solid wood flooring products vary.
After the dealer learned of the situation, he immediately rushed to Ms. Zhao’s home to check the scene and found that solid wood flooring did present with partial tile-like phenomenon. Among them, some solid wood floors on the first floor appear slightly tiled, and the east hall and the middle hall on the second floor have obvious tiles. The solid wood floors in other places are in good condition. In addition, it was found at the scene that the chandeliers on the first floor of the East Hall and the middle hall had blemishes and peeling of wall paint, and there were signs of rain washed over the second floor of the middle hall and the lower wall of the north window of the east hall. At the same time, they also measured the moisture content of solid wood flooring on the site and found that the moisture content of solid wood flooring on the first floor was 11% to 15%, and the moisture content of the tile-like solid wood flooring on the second floor of the East Hall and the middle hall was as high as 18%. The moisture content of solid wood flooring on the third floor is only 10% to 13%.
According to the on-site observation, measurement and visual analysis of the situation, the manufacturer believes that the tile-like phenomenon in the above-mentioned solid wood floors is caused by the wet expansion of the solid wood floor due to the wetness of the ground and the wall.
In order to properly solve this problem, on July 18, three experts from the Board of Flooring Committee of the China Timber Distribution Association and Associate Professor Yang Meixin of Beijing Forestry University made a special trip to Jinan to coordinate the matter.
After carefully observing and testing the scene, Ms. Yang Meixin, a famous expert in the flooring industry, explained to the user in detail the reasons for the tile-like phenomenon of solid wood flooring. She explained that after the paving of solid wood floors, there are sometimes tile-like deformations in some places, and this situation is mainly related to the installation conditions and the use environment. Specific reasons are: First, solid wood floor pavement before the ground water content is high; Second, the solid wood floor pavement is not living for a long time, did not promptly ventilated; Third, the ground or wall part of the leak; Fourth, usually clean the floor, with No wringing wet mop mop the floor.
The solution to the problem of tile deformation in solid wood flooring is: when traces of deformation are found in the first week of installation, the problem is not serious. 3 to 4 rows of solid wood flooring are removed on both sides of the room, and forced ventilation is performed with a fan, resulting in draught-free ventilation under the solid wood floor. . If soaking water causes water in the solid wood floor, it should be completely removed as soon as possible so that the back of the solid wood floor is dried up and dried, allowing it to recover. After the ground and solid wood floors are completely dry, they will be re-paved. The only serious problem is to dismantle the floor, change the solid wood floor or rework after processing.
She reminded that before paving solid wood floors, the ground moisture content must be tested before reaching the standard for paving. This is an important prerequisite for ensuring project quality. The moisture content of walls and floor slabs for newly delivered homes is more than 22%. When dry wood flooring (water content ≤13%) expands when the backsheet absorbs moisture, the plates will become tiled. During the interior decoration process, if the cement mortar is mixed in the room, there will be a lot of water seepage into the floor. When the solid wood floor is finished, a lot of moisture in the potential floor will be absorbed by the back of the dry solid wood floor, so that the backboard first Expansion causes deformation of the plate.
