The temperature detectors can be divided into three categories according to their different performances, which can be more applied in the places where they are needed.
The first kind is a fixed temperature detector. The fixed temperature detector is a fire detector that starts an alarm when the temperature rise caused by a fire exceeds a certain value within a specified time. It has two types of wire type and point type. The linear type is that when the local ambient temperature rises to the specified value, the fusible insulation melts to short-circuit the two conductors, thereby generating a fire alarm signal. Point-type fixed-temperature detectors use bimetallic sheets, fusible metals, thermocouple thermistor resistors and other components to generate a fire alarm signal at a specified temperature.
The second type is the differential temperature detector. Differential temperature detectors are fire detectors that initiate an alarm when the rate of temperature rise caused by a fire exceeds a specified value within a specified time. It also has two types of wire and point structure. The linear differential temperature detector operates according to a wide range of thermal effects, and the point differential temperature detector operates according to a local thermal effect. The main temperature-sensing devices are an air capsule, a temperature-sensitive semiconductor resistance element, and the like.
The latter type of temperature-sensing detector is a differential temperature detector. The differential fixed temperature detector combines the two principles of fixed temperature and differential temperature and combines the structure of the two detectors. Differential temperature detectors are usually membrane-type or thermistor-type resistive type combined detectors.
