Ukrainian imports of Russian natural gas prices rise

In the first quarter of this year, the price of Ukrainian natural gas imported from Ukraine was 264 U.S. dollars per thousand cubic meters, up 4.7% from the fourth quarter of last year.

According to Ukrainian media reports, in January 2009, Uruguay signed a natural gas contract, which stipulated that the price of imported Russian natural gas in the first quarter of 2010 would be US$305 per 1,000 cubic meters, which was US$97 higher than in the fourth quarter of 2009.

In April 2010, Uzbekistan signed an agreement and Russia agreed to cut prices by about 30% on the basis of the original contract price to sell gas to Ukraine.

In the second quarter of 2010, the price of Ukrainian imports of Russian natural gas fell to US$232.8 per 1,000 cubic meters, in the third quarter it was US$248.7 per 1,000 cubic meters, and in the fourth quarter it was US$252.1 per 1,000 cubic meters.
