In order to reduce the amount of slag production, all equipment immersed in the plating pot, such as the furnace nose, sinking roller, stabilizing roller and bracket must be made of materials resistant to Al-Zn-Si alloy melt corrosion, generally using high heat resistant stainless steel SUS316L . The slag produced by hot-dip aluminum-zinc-silicon plating tends to accumulate on the surface of the roller, causing buildup or even wrapping the roller into an irregular shape, which must be shoveled in time. Where the two ends of the roller are not in contact with the steel strip, and the roll neck and the side surface are often formed with crystal grains of the slag, sometimes it grows large. Different from galvanizing, the surface of the sinking roller generally cannot have a slag-discharging groove, because the roller with the groove is easy to generate slag at the groove, and is not conducive to shovel to produce the accumulated tumor.

After the aluminum sump has accumulated more slag, it will affect the normal operation of the equipment, so it must be cleaned once every time the sinking roller is changed.
