To this end, China's Great Wall Aluminum Company alumina plant in the world first used a "Bayer - sintering" mixed production of alumina. After more than 30 years of hard work, this method has been improving, with an overall alumina recovery rate of 92.2% and alkali consumption (calculated as Na2CO3) of 69kg/t. Compared with the Shanxi Aluminum Plant sintering method, the production cost is lower by more than 15%. As a result, the Guizhou aluminum plant changed from 1989 to mixed-smelting to produce alumina. In 1992, the aluminum plant in Shanxi was changed to a mixed-joint method to produce alumina. Shandong Aluminum Plant and Zhongzhou Aluminum Plant were also changed to mixed joints.
