Domestic acrylic acid price trend

Recent data indicates that between November 1st and November 30th, 2012, the domestic factory price of acrylic acid has experienced a significant decline. It dropped from an initial steady rate of 17,350 yuan per ton to a current level of 16,067 yuan per ton, representing a decrease of 7.4%. At present, numerous domestic companies are operating below full capacity, resulting in an oversupply of acrylic acid in the market. This has led to a lackluster trading environment, with sluggish demand from downstream markets and transportation challenges. These factors have collectively contributed to a downward pressure on prices. Currently, the factory prices for acrylic acid continue to fall. By the end of the month, satellite petrochemical plants have maintained their acid prices at 16,000 yuan per ton with guarantees of sales. Refined acid is quoted at 15,500 yuan per ton. Meanwhile, the Shenyang chemical factory has reduced its报价to 15,000 yuan per ton. Additionally, Qilu Kaitai’s acrylic acid pricing stands at 12,500 yuan per ton, with an abundance of stock available. In East China, the acrylic acid market has witnessed a sharp decline. The primary market for crude acrylic acid now sees prices ranging between 12,000-13,000 yuan per ton, while refined acrylic acid trades within 14,500-15,000 yuan per ton. In South China, the acrylic acid market remains weak, with limited active buyers. Crude acid barrels are quoted between 13,000-14,000 yuan per ton, a drop of 1,000 yuan compared to last week. In North China, the acrylic acid market has contracted significantly, with distributors experiencing slow shipping. Crude acid prices are quoted at 12,000-13,000 yuan per ton. Overall, the market is currently entering its off-season for sales in December. There is a notable absence of meaningful negotiations, coupled with an abundance of cash reserves. Manufacturers are pushing for higher sales volumes, while downstream demand remains weak. Consequently, buyers are withdrawing from the market, causing transaction volumes to contract and prices to plummet. According to Business Society Chemical Branch's acrylic acid analyst, Fu Shan, the prevailing sentiment among traders is pessimistic. Coupled with traditional buying patterns of either hoarding or avoiding purchases altogether, the short-term acrylic market is expected to continue fluctuating downwards.
