Among these, the industrial machinery sector has emerged as the largest consumer of machine tools due to its broad application across various industries. The rapid growth of China's automotive industry has significantly boosted the demand for transportation equipment, making it the second-largest market for machine tools over the past decade. Metal cutting machine tools dominate the market, accounting for three times the volume of metal forming machine tools. This reflects their critical role in precision manufacturing and production processes. According to industry experts, the demand for machine tool accessories is expected to grow at a rate of 16.1% in 2014, outpacing both metal cutting and forming machine tools. This indicates a growing need for supporting components that enhance the efficiency and performance of the broader machine tool industry. The machine tool industry encompasses eight key sectors: metal cutting machines, metal forming machines, foundry equipment, woodworking machines, cutting tools, abrasive tools, machine tool accessories (such as rolling elements), and machine tool electrical systems (including CNC controls). As a foundational industry providing essential machinery across all economic sectors, it plays a vital role in national defense modernization and serves as a key indicator of a country’s overall industrial competitiveness. CNC machine tools, considered high-end manufacturing equipment, are a focal area for government support and investment. They represent a strategic sector for developing emerging industries and are central to advanced manufacturing. Due to their importance, the industry benefits from research subsidies, favorable tariff policies, and incentives aimed at boosting domestic production and innovation. These factors collectively contribute to the sustained growth and development of the Chinese machine tool sector.
