**Abstract**
At 10:43 AM Hamburg time on September 14 (16:43 PM Beijing time), the second train of the Zheng-Ou Bianzhen service arrived at the Hamburg Billwerke Freight Station. This marks another milestone for Germany's largest port and logistics hub, as it once again welcomes the "Orient Express." Gerd Felser, a spokesperson for DB Schenker, noted that the first train was once hailed by German media as "the locomotive pulling the world economy." The arrival of the second train signifies that the routes connecting Asia’s hinterland—particularly Zhengzhou—and Europe’s major ports are now operating in a stable and regular manner. On the Silk Road Economic Belt, a new balance between economic and time costs is being established.

**Working Through the Weekend for the Zheng-Ou Train**
Slowing down, turning, stopping, the new red locomotive No. 261100-2, accompanied by 41 marine blue containers wrapped in the glory of Asia, like a bright dragon, entered the first platform of the Hamburg Billwerke Freight Station.
Below the train, Chris Fanter, deputy manager of the Billwerke station, excitedly held up a "Hamburg Welcome" banner he had translated and printed himself. He said, “This moment is even more exciting than the arrival of the first train. The second class represents real stability—faster delivery of goods and access to the market. European customers are truly blessed.â€
On the platform, a group of freight station staff were busy preparing for the arrival of the Zheng-Ou train. “We gave up our weekend, but we’re all happy to see this long-distance train again,†one worker said. “We started preparations last night.†Joern Groth, who oversaw the track inspection, rode his bike back and forth checking the rails. Felser added, “Working for the Zheng-Ou train means working across the Eurasian land bridge and putting in extra hours for European customers. It’s also about supporting the spirit of the Dahe newspaper reporter.â€
**Distribution**
**41 Containers of Chinese Goods Headed to Eight European Countries**
Dozens of heavy trucks stood ready on the platform. Large gantry cranes began their work on the first platform. Driver Herbert Ahreus operated the crane, lifting containers marked with "China Railway Container" and "China Ocean Shipping" onto the waiting trucks. Fanter pointed to the "China Customs" seal on the container door, explaining that customs clearance for the 41 boxes would be handled over the weekend, with all vehicles available by Monday at the latest. Over the next two days, fresh food and Chinese goods will be delivered to European customers.
According to the distribution plan, the 41 containers will be sent to eight countries, including Germany, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland, Norway, Belgium, Spain, and the Netherlands. This means that from Hamburg, the reach of the Zheng-Ou train extends deep into the heart of Europe.

**95% of the German Warehouse Is Filled with Chinese Goods**
What’s inside the containers? “From small items like food and clothing to large industrial products, this train can carry anything,†Felser told the Dahe reporter while showing the cargo list. “You can see a table, and you’ll understand how closely our companies and consumers depend on China.â€
Outside the Hamburg Port, office manager Stephan Puvogel confirmed that 95% of the 15,000 square meter warehouse is filled with “Made in China†products. The reporter saw women’s sweaters, ski suits, and sheepskin jackets ready to hit European retail windows; Chinese Christmas lights would be among the first stock arrivals. Among the cargo, 17 containers of diamonds will be sent to a major German refractory materials factory, 10 containers of tires will enter the car trailer market, and professional machinery such as cloth shafts, industrial wires, piston rods, grinding tools, and honey machines will support European manufacturing.
**Billwerke Freight Station**
**A “Wild†Multimodal Transport System**
Located in the city of Hamburg, just four stops from Hamburg Central Station and half an hour from Hamburg Airport, the Billwerke Freight Station is a key node in the logistics network. Above the station, a flyover connects to the highway, and from the gantry, you can see the Port of Hamburg not far away. Fanter explained, “Here, you can quickly and freely switch between different modes of transport.â€
