It is not recommended to water your crops before applying a fungicide. The reason is twofold: first, if the crop is already suffering from root disease, watering can spread the pathogen through the soil via water flow, leading to more plant deaths. Second, excessive watering reduces soil permeability, which limits oxygen availability to the roots. This weakens the plant’s natural defenses, making it more vulnerable to further infection. Moreover, after watering, the soil becomes harder for the fungicide to penetrate. Overwatering can also worsen soil compaction, increasing the risk of root damage and further plant loss.
It is also not advisable to water immediately after applying the fungicide. Doing so may quickly dilute the active ingredients in the soil, reducing their effectiveness in preventing or controlling diseases. Therefore, it's best to avoid watering for a few days after application to allow the treatment to work properly.
However, if you notice symptoms such as wilting, yellowing, or stunted growth after using the fungicide, it may be necessary to rehydrate the plants to prevent significant losses. In such cases, you can take the following steps: first, water the area once to help reduce the concentration of the chemical in the soil. Then, apply a rooting agent, or use products like Yunda 120 or similar root stimulants through foliar spray or root irrigation. These measures can help alleviate the stress on the plant and promote recovery. Always monitor the crop closely and adjust your care routine accordingly.
