France: Rapid decline in fertilizer delivery

According to French media reports, the French Federation of Fertilizer Industries (Unifa) announced that by the end of March 2012, the delivery of all kinds of fertilizers related to the three major nutrients of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium had plummeted. Compared with the same period of the previous year, in the mineral fertilizer, the delivery of nitrogen fertilizer decreased by 16%, and the delivery of phosphate fertilizer and potash decreased by 19%. The results of the Statistical and Social Prospecting Agency (SSP), a subsidiary of the French agricultural sector, revealed that frost disasters in the northeastern part of France led to a new record for the replanting of spring crops. The replanting area of ​​sugar beet and sunflower increased by 1%, the consumption of corn increased by 4%, the spring barley increased by 77%, and the protein-rich crop decreased by 14%. The above situation is quite favorable for the delivery of nitrogen-containing compound fertilizers, which are divided into three categories: nitrogen, phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium, and nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Therefore, the decrease in the delivery of this fertilizer is lower than that of other types of fertilizers.
