PPR pipe knowledge

PP-R pipe is a type of pure plastic pipe product that is extruded from the three types of polypropylene raw material through an extruder. It is transported and installed in a low-temperature environment and is vulnerable to cold brittleness, resulting in cracking and fracture of pipes. According to the national standard GB/T50349-2005 of "Technical Specification for Polypropylene Pipeline for Building Water Supply", combined with actual installation experience, special attention is required for the following precautions to avoid cracking of pipes and fittings caused by improper transportation and installation.
First, storage and transportation
1. Pipes are piled up flat and the height is less than 1.5m;
2, can not be stored in the open, to prevent direct sunlight, away from heat;
3, when handling good packaging, be careful to light, to avoid oil, is strictly prohibited impact cracking, falling objects slamming, trampled rolling, and sharp objects touch and throw, throw, roll, drag, causing the pipe's recessive cracking.
Second, install
1. Check the pipeline for cracks, contamination, etc., cut 50mm at both ends;
2, using the temperature control 260 ± 10 °C and welding head without wear of the welder, according to the heating in place, plugging quickly, horizontally vertical, to avoid the point of rotation welding;
3. When connecting the pipe fittings to water meters, valves, faucets, etc., do not use too much force to tighten the wire and crack the pipe.
4. The fittings and water heaters at the water inlet cannot be directly connected, and must be connected with a hose larger than 300mm;
5. When the cold water pipe is installed in parallel with the hot water pipe without insulation material, the spacing should be greater than 100mm to avoid the toughness cracking;
6, outdoor surface mounted pipe using lead foil, PVC sleeve and other materials to prevent direct sunlight;
7. In the environment where the temperature is lower than 0°C, anti-freezing and anti-cracking of insulation materials shall be added, and the insulation thickness is sufficient;
8. The pipe laid in the wall, the thickness of the surface mortar is greater than 20mm, to avoid cracking the wall surface and the ground due to the expansion and contraction of the pipe;
9. It is forbidden to apply asphalt, paint, and other volatile substances on the surface of the pipeline when doing water repellent treatment to produce odor of water quality;
10. It is connected with other materials and plastic pipes. It can not be welded directly. It can be connected by wire, such as PP-R and PE, PE-RT, PB, etc.
11, plan or line marking the location of the dark pipeline, to avoid the decoration of floors, tiles, etc., when the pipeline is broken;
12, to prevent excessive welding and debris on the site fell into the pipeline to plug the pipe; using plugs and other timely block the port;
13, should not be designed and installed in the structural layer of the building, such as beams and columns floor, leading to no maintenance;
Third, pressure test
1. After the pipelines are installed and fully cooled, pressure testing must be done to prevent leaks caused by improper transportation and installation of pipelines;
2, cold water pipe test pressure should be 1.5 times the design pressure, not less than 0.6MPa; hot water pipe should be 2.0 times, not less than 1.0MPa;
3. After the piping system is installed, the pressure test should be started when the cooling reaches the strength. Normal pressure for 1 hour without leakage, that is qualified;
4, using the pressure test pump gradually rose to the test pressure, to avoid the speed too fast, the pressure gauge reading wrong or failure, the test pressure exceeds the pressure on the pipe and burst;
5. The construction party and the owner sign the "Pressure Check and Acceptance Sheet" to determine the content of the pressure test to ensure the safe use of the pipeline system;
6. The plastic plugs at the outlets of households are temporarily used for pressure testing and sealing. Long-term installation of faucets, hoses, angle valves and other sanitary products may cause leakage.
