As more and more water-based paints come into contact with everyone's life, I think everyone will not be familiar with water-based paints. Here are some tips for using water-based paints. I hope to bring help to everyone.

1. Waterborne wood coating type and application technology

Through the analysis of the sales of waterborne wood lacquer products on the market, the application techniques of waterborne wood lacquers according to the variety of base materials are roughly as follows:

1 acrylate type: Among them are styrene-acrylic emulsion, acrylate (modified) emulsion, suitable for primer, matte finish. The coating made by the base material has a relatively low cost, a general hardness, and is not easy to produce shrinkage cavities, but the film forming performance is poor and the gloss is poor, and it is not suitable for high gloss paint. Poor wear resistance, difficult to defoam, generally used in combination; 2 polyurethane dispersion: including aromatic and aliphatic polyurethane dispersion, the latter is excellent in yellowing resistance, more suitable for outdoor. They have good film forming properties, high self-crosslinking gloss, good abrasion resistance, and are not easy to generate bubbles and shrinkage cavities. But the hardness is general, the price is more expensive, suitable for making bright topcoat, floor paint, etc.; 3 Acrylic modified polyurethane dispersion: including a mixture of aromatic, aliphatic polyurethane and acrylate dispersion, both of which have the advantages of the above two categories The cost is relatively moderate, and it can be self-crosslinked or used in two-component system. It has good hardness, fast drying, good wear resistance, good chemical resistance, low yellowing or no yellowing. It is suitable for bright matt paint and primer. , outdoor paint, etc.;

4 Water-based urethane oil: It is a single component, similar to oily urethane oil, redox drying type. It needs to add drier when filming. It has quick drying, good gloss, good hardness, good wear resistance and good water resistance. It is suitable for doing. Bright surface, floor paint; 5 water-based two-component polyurethane: one component is a polyurethane dispersion with -OH; two components are aqueous curing agents, mainly aliphatic. After the two components are mixed and applied, the cross-linking reaction can significantly improve the water resistance, hardness and fullness, and the gloss also has a certain effect, the comprehensive performance is good, the paint is not easy to yellow, and is especially suitable for outdoor coating.

2, product technology status

From the perspective of packaging, the waterborne wood coatings on the market are divided into single components and two components, of which the single component occupies the vast majority; from the source of supply, there are imported products, and products produced by foreign brands in China have Domestic manufacturers develop their own products. Among them, the former two are mostly, and the latter has a small sales share. Through the analysis and testing of foreign brands, joint venture brands and domestic products, the performance of the products is summarized as follows.

1 Appearance: It is milky white, yellowish, and also has a reddish viscous shape;

2 solid content: generally 30% to 45%, much lower than the solvent type;

3 water resistance: aliphatic polyurethane dispersion, aqueous urethane oil is much better than aromatic / acrylic emulsion type;

4 alcohol resistance: the trend is basically the same as water resistance;

5 Hardness: The lowest acrylic acid type, the second aromatic polyurethane is medium, the aliphatic polyurethane dispersion and its two-component polyurethane and urethane oil are the highest, and the hardness will gradually increase with time, especially the double Component cross-linking type. However, the hardness increases slowly and is not as good as the solvent type. There are very few pencil hardnesses that can reach H;

6 Gloss: It is difficult to achieve the gloss of solvent-based wood coatings, which is generally about 20% lower. Among them, the two components are higher, while the urethane oil and polyurethane dispersion are the second, and the acrylic emulsion type is the lowest;

7 fullness: due to the influence of solid content, the difference is large, combined with its low solid content and poor fullness, the higher the solid content, the better the fullness, the two-component cross-linking type is better than the single component, the acrylic emulsion type Poor

8 wear resistance: the best combination of urethane oil and two-component cross-linking type, followed by polyurethane dispersion, again acrylic emulsion type;

3. Application technology of waterborne polyurethane paint

Waterborne polyurethane paint as a new type of green environmental protection product has only entered the Chinese market in recent years. Its biggest advantage is that it solves the fullness, feel and hardness of domestic painters from the application technology. Heat resistance, scalding resistance, alcohol resistance, water resistance and pollution resistance to paint film;

Breaking through the weakness of water-based wood lacquer; and water-based polyurethane lacquer is not easy to produce bubbles during construction, easy to be sanded, not susceptible to temperature and humidity, and laid a solid foundation for comprehensively solving the market application of water-based wood lacquer.
