Introduction to the physiological properties of glyphosate

Commercially available glyphosate has glyphosate isopropylamine salt, glyphosate ammonium salt, glyphosate and other forms and various dosage forms, of which 10% of glyphosate water and 41% of glyphosate isopropylamine Salt accounts for the vast majority.
In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the No. 1158 announcement, the glyphosate mixed water produced by the original pesticide registration certificate and the temporary registration certificate for biopesticide before 30 August 2012 is less than 30%. The agent can be sold and used during the quality assurance period of its products. That is to say, after August 31 this year, the sales of glyphosate mixed with less than 30% will no longer be allowed. So, what is the difference between 41% glyphosate isopropylamine salt and 30% glyphosate?
Glyphosate itself is hardly soluble in water, but its salt is easily soluble in water, and the salt may have potassium salt, sodium salt, ammonium salt, isopropylamine salt and the like. The active ingredient of various preparations of glyphosate is glyphosate acid, which is acidic and has poor water solubility. After salt formation, the water solubility increases, generally can be formed into ammonium salts and isopropylamine salts, potassium salts, sodium salts, etc., the most common are ammonium salts and isopropylamine salts.
First, from the herbicidal effect, the potassium salt is generally slightly larger than the isopropylamine salt, and the isopropylamine salt is slightly larger than the ammonium salt and the sodium salt. Glyphosate isopropylamine salt is a salt obtained by neutralization of glyphosate with an organic base isopropylamine, and is more soluble in water. The herbicidal active ingredient is glyphosate acid. At the same level, the herbicidal function of glyphosate is better than that of glyphosate isopropylamine, but the herbicidal spectrum and mechanism of action are the same.
According to the content, the different salts of glyphosate are calculated according to the national standard of pesticide name and the national standard of glyphosate water. The content of active ingredient is calculated by glyphosate content, and the content of active ingredient is indicated content* (0.95~1.10) ), the conversion coefficient of glyphosate isopropylamine salt and glyphosate is 1.349, that is, glyphosate isopropylamine salt is equal to 1.349* glyphosate content. Therefore, we can calculate 41% of isopropylamine salt, and 33% of the ammonium salt has a glyphosate content of about 30%. Currently commercially available 41% isopropylamine salt is formulated with the original drug, and now 30% of the market standard glyphosate is not salted. For products registered under the glyphosate name in the Ministry of Agriculture, the active ingredient indicated is the content of glyphosate; and the product registered under the name glyphosate isopropylamine salt, the active ingredient indicated is the content of glyphosate isopropylamine salt.
However, 41% of glyphosate isopropylamine saline and 30% of glyphosate are still different:
The 41% glyphosate isopropylamine salt indicated that the product is an isopropylamine salt of glyphosate.
The 30% glyphosate solution has the following possibilities:
(1) 30% glyphosate water exists in the form of isopropylamine salt, similar to 40.5% glyphosate isopropylamine saline (slightly lower)
(2) 30% glyphosate water is present in the form of a potassium salt, similar to 37% potassium glyphosate salt solution (3) 30% glyphosate water is present as an ammonium salt, similar to 33% of grass Phosphine ammonium salt (4) sodium salt and dimethylamine salt are possible.
